Part-Time Worship Leader and Accompanist

Job Description:

The primary responsibilities of the part-time worship leader will be to assist the pastor in leading a thoroughly blended worship service of traditional church music and folk Christian music. This person is directly accountable to the Pastor. The candidate will possess an adaptable skill set and leadership capabilities, which will enable a worship ministry to help Big Cove Church feel the presence of God.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  1. Continue to grow and mature in Christ as a godly person of integrity. Strong sense of calling and identity in Christ. Demonstrated leadership in being able to mentor Christian behavior and beliefs to those in his/her sphere of influence. 

  2. Proficiency in leading worship with a strong vocal ability and piano/ keyboard ability. Ability to lead with piano accompaniment is necessary.  Participates in the Worship Team.

  3. Provide leadership, vision, and passion for BCPC in the music worship ministry team that is in line with the overall vision, purpose and mission of our church. 

  4. Coordinate with the Pastor to create and lead a well-planned and engaging Sunday morning worship service. 

    • Responsibilities include preparation for and leading band rehearsals, as well as consulting with the Pastor to coordinate the music for the Sunday service. 

    • Download music from our licensed resources for the band and send out the music via email to prepare for rehearsal

  5. Create the power point presentations for weekly worship.

  6. Helping check/proofread music info in the order of worship in the bulletin

  7. When available, perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor. 

  8. It is anticipated that the duties associated with this position will take no less than 4 hours and no more than 6 hours per week.
